Swedish Massage– 60 min-$70, 90 min-$100
Swedish Massage is a firm but gentle touch massage with the focus of relaxing the superficial layers of tissue over the deeper connective tissue. This technique utilizes long gliding strokes to relax tissues, with kneading strokes to help disperse stagnancy. Friction is applied over joints to increase blood flow and percussion strokes are used to rejuvenate. It’s the smooth rhythmic application of these movements that allow the body to relax, like a baby being rocked to sleep. Lotion/oil is used throughout the massage which will leave skin feeling moisturized.
Benefits: Pain management, increased blood flow, increased flexibility, rehabilitation for injured muscles, improved stress levels, boosted immune system, and toxins pushed from the body.
Heated Stone Full Body Massage– 60 min-$80, 90 min-$110
Heated Stone Massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones while working on tight muscles. Added heat melts away tension in tissue layers allowing work on pressure points and problem areas, alleviating stress. Heated stones are used as an extension of the therapist’s hands, which allows the therapist to work deeply without discomfort, further allowing the body to rest and rejuvenate. Lotion/oil is used throughout the massage to give stones glide and the heat opens pores allowing more absorption which will leave skin feeling soft and supple.
Benefits: In addition to the benefits of Swedish Massage, heated stones also relieve tension, raise the basal temp slightly boosting the body’s ability to flush toxins, promote sleep, relieve pain related to autoimmune disease, boost immunity, and even decrease depression.
Lymphatic Massage–45 min-$55
Lymphatic Massage, or manual lymphatic drainage, is a lighter touch massage technique focusing on the upper subcutaneous tissue as opposed to the underlying muscular structure. Work will mostly be moving towards and localized in the joints around lymph nodes, to simulate the body’s natural movements and get stagnant lymph fluid moving which is particularly beneficial for anyone with lack of mobility/bed rest, severe sinusitis, and excessive edema. Some individuals seek the therapy for general wellness and report feeling better after their session because it helps move toxins and inflammatory agents out of the body.
Benefits: Boosts the immune system aiding your body to fight off infection and speeds up healing and recovery from illness/surgery. It also helps reduce water retention and is used in the treatment of lymphedema. It can aid in weight loss due to improving the lymphatic system which improves your metabolic rate and helps you burn calories more efficiently.
*No lotion/oil is needed but can be used if skin is dry which is often prevalent in edema.
Craniosacral Massage– 90 min-$100, 120 min-$130
* Massage is applied over loose exercise clothing. No lotion/oil is applied.
Craniosacral Massage is a full body technique formulated to release tension within the tissue overlying the entire stretch of the spinal column, from cranial to sacral vertebrae, and return natural rhythm to spinal fluid. Gentle manipulation is applied, and special attention is given along the neck and head to allow release of pressure in the skull. This works to restore the natural position of the bones and ease muscle tension. The results of a balanced craniosacral system are much like a reset for our entire body similar to chiropractic work but less invasive.
Benefits: Helps reduce overall stress levels, boost immune system, flush toxins from the body, ease neck and back pain, relieve migraine headaches, helps reduce insomnia, sinus problems, TMJ disorder, and tinnitus.
The form of Craniosacral Massage used creates a synergistic fusion of Chinese medicine massage (Tui Na) alongside classic Craniosacral holding.
Differences from typical Craniosacral Massage:
· A rhythmic technique is used along the large muscle groups to give overall relaxation.
· This technique is firm but light. Its rhythmic movements shake out the muscles stimulating blood flow, energy flow, and lymphatic flow.
· This technique allows for a deeper relaxation of all tissues. It especially focuses on the fascia, which has the tendency to be the root problem due to the twisting, tightening, and hardening tendencies of the tissue.
