When I have a client in my chair, my goal is to find a solution for their hair problems, give them a style that best fits their lifestyle and keep their hair healthy. I love meeting the challenges of all types of hair. I want my clients to be able to duplicate the style I give them by showing them how to style it as well as what products to use.
Coloring hair is a way I can enhance my client’s styles by making certain aspects about the cut and style more noticeable or for a graying client to feel more youthful. I’ve had extensive training in color theory so I am well equipped with the knowledge on how to meet a client’s color challenges. My goal is always to keep the hair healthy and improved during a color service.
With the encouragement of Kim Olson, my sister, I became a Cosmetologist in 2001. It was the best career choice I could have ever made. As a hairdresser get to use my creativity everyday as I hone my expertise.
I am passionate about continuing my education. I keep up on the latest trends in products, hair cutting and styling for women and men, coloring techniques and formal styling through hair shows and training classes. I really enjoy doing Locks of Love cuts as it is an awesome experience to share and be a part of such an exciting selfless act.
Some highlights of my education include: Pivot Point for formal styling, color and cutting classes. Innovative coloring techniques and fashion forward haircuts with the Doves. Training with Eric Fisher, Beth Mindardi, Nick Arrojo (from TLC’s past show “What Not to Wear”) and Wayne Grund.
